Carrot Adventures

After four months and more than 100 bottles of milk, Oskar hit the table and said: “Deghhh!”. That probably meant that he had enough milk and that he wanted some real food. Nina and I were therefore looking for suitable vegetables that would represent his first dense food. Carrots were sacrificed for that purpose.

Nina peeled 12 kg of carrots on Saturday morning. Joke aside, out of all the carrots that were waiting in our fridge; she chooses the prettiest and strongest (we’re still talking about carrots). She carefully washed them, peeled them, and prepared them to end up in a condition suitable for a toothless puppy.

It was approaching 3 pm when Oscar was supposed to crave carrots. We fitted it properly with a bib, I comfortably placed it in my lap, and an unforgettable adventure could begin. He didn’t know what to do with the first two spoons, so most of the carrots landed on his face, arms, legs, and everywhere else. But then he realized it was a good thing and diligently ate his first spoonfuls of thick food. He rinsed it all off with more milk, so the meal was perfect.

After the first successful diaper changing, the first walk, and the other first unforgettable moments, we took another essential step. I think our baby is almost ready for kindergarten.
